Multiple friend #1: Open switching in therapy is akin to walking through a mall naked while doing something lewd or disgusting.
Multiple friend #2: Vulnerability does not necessarily mean switching. Switching does not necessarily mean vulnerability.
We have no trouble switching in therapy, and in fact we consider it essential to do so in order for the appropriate insider(s) to address the T directly. The only time that someone speaks through someone else is if a switch would destroy the momentum that the first insider already has.
Our twist on friend #1's statement: Vulnerability of any sort is akin to walking through a mall naked while doing something lewd or disgusting. Although after seeing this T since mid-2004, our trust level with her is far greater than with most people.
