The bottom line is that people need to broaden their understanding of "self" and of what constitutes "self."
The kind of (perhaps inadvertent) insensitivity of the ISSTD guidelines is fodder for my Salute of the Day thread here (http://www.psychforums.com/dissociative-identity/topic182656.html).
That being said, we personally don't give a flying rat's rearend what
the ISSTD or any so-called experts say, because they're not living our
life.
