[Same discussion, same friend: (T)he thought of nurturing

building a working space rocket.]
This. And on
a related note, our inability to communicate our emotional needs as a
very young child was in part not having the ability to understand what
we were feeling in the first place. Some things defy comprehension even
for adults. How is a toddler supposed to have enough self-awareness to
communicate emotional needs? Our mother never asked and we couldn't
tell her. She's been gone for nearly 17 years, and we resent her to
this day for her utter cluelessness as a parent.
