Our older niece is going off to college next month. Sniffle. It seems like only yesterday that we were pledging never to change any of her diapers. :-P
The good news is that, instead of living four hours away from us, she'll be living about a half-hour to 45 minutes from us. We told her father that we promise not to be the meddling aunt with no boundaries.
"No, you'll be the aunt with too many boundaries," he quipped.
Our niece won't have a car with her this first year; they don't allow freshmen to park on campus. WTF? What if the freshman lived withing driving distance and wanted to commute from home? Do they make all freshman live on campus, even the ones coming from a short drive away? Why should they (or their families) have to pay exorbitant amounts of money for something that they don't need in the first place?
I digress. The non-meddling aunt is doing the Snoopy dance. We'll see what happens next.
