Aurora13 is doing better. The way she's handled all of this is great progress for her and will have a long-term positive effect on her (and our) healing.

We just got a form letter from the insurance company acknowledging the claim. The letter took only two days from when it was generated to get from upstate NY to Long Island. It's reassuring to know that the claims people are working promptly.
We're going to look at one of those car-comparison websites to see what people in our area are paying for the car that we want. We want to be prepared.
