We're home on a staycation this week. Work last week was very busy as we focused on wrapping up urgent things before our time off began. So not much online time then. On the weekend, we spent time on both days cleaning out more things from our parents' house. Amidst drawers of legal and financial documents we also found report cards for us, both brothers, and even one from our mother.
We also found a photocopy of a self-portrait that we drew when the body was five. The drawing style was more typical of a five-year-old than we'd expect or would like to admit, since we've always considered ourselves artistically inclined. But being normal in some respects is probably a good thing.
So we took home a number of the legal documents and other items and sorted through them last night, deciding which needed to go into our safe-deposit box, and which we could simply store at home. Charity doesn't even want to go to the house, much less sort through such things, but it wasn't as distressing for her as she anticipated. She knew it was necessary to get these things done rather than having it hanging over our head.
Today we have to do the four bags of laundry that have taken over our closet. When we gather up additional items, it'll be more like five bags. There's no more postponing--now is the time, and it simply has to get done.
