Yesterday we had a terrible migraine. (Is there such a thing as a good one?) That's why we didn't post here at all.
There are three things that trigger migraines for us: Heat, humidity, and hormones. We're having an unseasonably warm weekend, and despite our having started menopause, good old Aunt Flo decided to visit us after having spared us last month. So as the heat and humidity rose yesterday, and Aunt Flo continued to be generally obnoxious, the migraine settled in and was making us miserable by lunchtime.
We don't take meds for migraine. We'll try Tylenol, but sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Hard to say whether it partially mitigates things, but at least it's something. We don't get migraines often enough to make a prescription worthwhile, and we don't want anything to conflict with our Prozac.
By evening, the pain still hadn't subsided, and lying down had helped very little. Usually, we keep very low light in the house at night anyway, a night-light in the kitchen/living room and a night light in the bedroom. But we had to turn off all light in the bedroom last night in order for the migraine to subside.
And now that the pain is gone, Charity's emotions are stirred up again. It never stops. Is it any wonder how discouraged we all are?
