We Are Not Disordered

by Charity

We never identify as "being DID" or "having DID." We always say that we're multiple.

Being multiple and having a disorder of any kind are two entirely different things. A person can be multiple and have minimal to no disorder because of it. Likewise, a singleton can have a high degree of disorder. And anyone, multiple or singleton, can be disordered for any number of reasons.

Our own disorder arises from clinical depression, GAD, and CPTSD, not from being many. Being many established the only order in our life, which was otherwise in chaos because of our brain chemistry and our external childhood circumstances.
