i have heard from a few systems that they tend towards
hoarding. it can make you feel cozy and warm. -- a multiple friend
Yep. We've seen stuff
as a way of validating who we are and that our experience and history
is real. We never got conscious validation from our caregivers.
Any success we've had in learning to detach from stuff
is largely motivated by the fact that our mother (an undiagnosed
multiple, now deceased for 17 years) was a classic, full-blown hoarder.
Our mission in life has always been to not end up like her. Our T of
13 years keeps telling us that we've already far superseded our mother
in our healing. But it's hard for us to accept this realization,
because we fear that we're still vulnerable to backsliding, as if our
destiny is to end up like our mother no matter how much we try not to
let that happen. :-/
