[Someone from one of the forums was talking about not always feeling distinct from another member of her own system.]
The two of us (Laura and Allegra) are together virtually all of the
time. We work together and know ourselves and each other extremely
well. Oftentimes we'll get into some rather strong disagreements,
mainly over philosophical stuff, but every now and then we'll find
ourselves finishing each other's thoughts. The key to each of us not
losing sense of our individual "I-ness" is to stay grounded in our respective senses of self and of other.
So
perhaps what makes you distinct from [another system member] are those intangible aspects
of self that go beyond concrete measurements like word choices and tone
of voice. The individual person's essence is unique and different from
every other one of the seven billion people on earth. Or the multi
equivalent--it's unique and different from everyone else in the system.
