Catching Up

We've been offline for a couple of days because of the latest heat wave. It should be more moderate for the next few days.

Aside from a few hours yesterday at our father's house, the weekend has been uncomfortable to the point where we've not been able to get much done, including things that we enjoy. We've had very pronounced hot flashes, bad enough so that all we could do was put the AC on high, turn both ceiling fans on, and spread a large towel spread across the bed so that we could lie under the fan and near the AC to minimize our discomfort. 

One thing we did manage to do was to get most of the paperwork in order for the several flex-benefits claims.  The deadline for 2013 claims is at the end of this week.  Because of the internal turmoil, and the menopausal turmoil mixed in, we've not have the strength or energy to tend to this when we should have.  We won't have enough claims to get the whole $2,000.00 that we're allowed, but we want to get everything that we can.

So tonight, before getting to bed at a reasonable hour, we have to at least fill out the claim forms.  Then tomorrow we can scan them and gather the additional documentation that we have ready to send.  It will mean a lot to us to accomplish something meaningful.
