But we have too much to do around the house to prepare for an eventual
move. Plus we have to visit with our disabled brother, who we check in
on weekly.
We dread those visits. If we wanted to spend time
checking up on a family member, we would have had children of our own.
This may sound heartless, but it's how we feel. Especially given that
we also spent four and a half years helping to take care of our father
when his health declined. And we're entitled to our feelings.
Nobody
took care of us emotionally. We have nothing to give; our reservoir is
drought-level dry. So we isolate and feel alone and stuck. No fun for
us until we can fix up our messed-up life.
