Welp....
Simple. We don't identify with the concept. We're old-school when it comes to our understanding of the word "host," which, as originally defined, carries the connotation of someone who's more real than everyone else in the system. Like the Sun with planets revolving around it, or a lead singer with a bunch of "doo-wops" relegated to the background.
It doesn't matter to us if some people have reframed the term; enough people, both multiple and singleton, still base their understanding on the old definition, and that's enough for us to discard it as being irrelevant to our system.
So, in answer to your observation, we're without someone(s) taking on a leadership role. For our system it not only has to be an adult function, it has to be a team of adults. There are too many of us and too much going on for this to be done by one person.
I could say that our bigs are a bunch of chicken-$#!+s, but....oh, wait, I just did.
