We-Dar

by Laura

[Response to a forum topic about recognizing multiplicity in other people.]

We call it "we-dar."  We had two co-workers who we were certain were multiple and didn't know it. One has passed, and the other we have no idea about. We could always tell when a younger or more rebellious insider was fronting.

Our mother (now deceased for 15 years) was an undiagnosed multiple. Only when we realized this could we begin to come to terms with what she did (and failed to do) to us. We can't imagine getting to the point where we'll process all of it completely, but we know that we have to keep trying.

We wonder if our maternal grandmother (now deceased for nine years, may she rot in hell) was also multiple.
