Another issue we have involves the notion that any show of imagination
is dangerous to our safety. We caused ourselves a great deal of damage
earlier in life by living in a fantasy world and seeing people the way
that we wanted them to be, rather than as they were. So now we feel
like we have to rely on "objective reality" (whatever that is) and
always be on guard, constantly questioning how we see things.
It's an awful way to live. :-/
