Today we got our stitches removed and received the biopsy results. We were 99.99 percent sure it was benign, but that 00.01 percent was still nagging at some of the others inside.
"Benign," the doctor said. "Solar Lentigo. Latin for sunspot."

He removed the bandages, cleaned off the area, removed the stitches, and cleaned off the area again. Then he placed another bandage on the area and told us to wear it for five days. The medical assistant handed us a short list of instructions, a copy of the lab report, and a sample-size tube of moisturizer.
We're glad this is over.
