To Say The Least

by Allegra

It's been a while.  To say the least.  And things have been difficult. Also to say the least.  Even those of us not easily affected have been affected.  It's hard not to become tired from all of this.

Over the weekend we managed to distract ourselves from the depression by doing two huge loads of laundry.  Not our favorite chore.  We've been known to buy more clothes instead of washing the ones that we have.

Today we had a pdoc appointment.  We were tempted to ask her to up our Prozac, but we resisted for two reasons.  One, a lot of the depression is circumstantial, with stress from our job and from not yet having found a new apartment.  Two, we've had a history of getting agitated when our Prozac is higher than it is now.

The last week has been more than eventful.  B1's father-in-law, a very kind man, passed away on March 4 at age 86.  At the same time, B2 had to have surgery on an umbilical hernia.  The surgery was on March 5.  While B2 was in the O.R., we called B1 to give him an update, and that's when B1 told us that his FIL had passed.  B2 did fine with the surgery, but the nurses told us that he had to stay at our house for 24 hours. So neither we nor B2 could go to the funeral.

For now, we're just trying to remain on an even keel and keep the depression away.  And feel good enough so that we can do more here than say the least.
