[Laura, to a multiple friend:]
Dunno if you've been listening in as [insiders' names] have been showing support for our bigs through their ongoing saga lately. We....they....f*ck pronouns....had told your folks that we were going to Skype our T last night.
The Skype went pretty well. Deborah is still having low-grade triggers, but at least we've been up most of the day and have gotten some stuff done.
I hate it when we accomplish stuff. :-/ My brand of laziness is incompatible with the bigs' brand of sanity.
__________
[Both of us, to the same friend:]
Ha. Funny thing about your T doing her impression of [insider's name], even though she hasn't met her yet. Our T did a good partial imitation of Charity, who she's spoken with many times.
We as a system have mentioned numerous times that we don't feel that we present uniquely as individuals, and our T keeps insisting that she can tell. Not all of the time, though. We've had sessions where she's gone most of the time thinking it was X when it was Y. It doesn't help that we don't like clarifying; we feel she should be able to tell, and we feel that we should be able to present uniquely enough for her to do so.
But we digress. Anyway, Rachel has this way of very emphatically placing our belongings in a neat pile next to where we're sitting during the session. Charity follows this protocol, but in a far less emphatic fashion, as if she's only doing it because of Rachel and her "shoulds." Our T illustrated each of the two of them doing this. She seems to be amused by Rachel's bluntness at times. :-/
[Same friend: is it a safety thing?]
No, it's a validation thing. We're not hiding who we are; we simply want our T to be able to recognize each of us. If she can't recognize that it's X, then we must be doing something wrong; must not be real; must not be valid, etc., etc., etc.
[Same friend: when people first meet me they always stare. i am so...different from the others they can hardly believe its the same person.]
Same with Rachel.
[Same friend: i would be p*ssed if someone confused me with someone else in the system.]
Exactly.
